MARK HSIAO, M.D.
Dr. Mark Hsiao is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in complex foot and ankle disorders. Dr. Hsiao completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, and he received his medical doctorate from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. After completing his medical doctorate, Dr. Hsiao entered active-duty military service and the orthopaedic surgery residency program at William Beaumont Army Medical Center/Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, Texas. As an officer in the U.S. Army, he served several overseas tours and deployed to combat theater in Afghanistan as part of a forward surgical team element in support of the Special Operations Task Force in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
To further pursue his interest in foot and ankle orthopaedic disorders and taking care of competitive professional athletes, Dr. Hsiao is undergoing subspecialty training at one of the world’s premier fellowships here in Las Vegas. Dr. Hsiao is spending one year at The Foot & Ankle Institute at Desert Orthopaedic Center, studying under the famous Dr. Troy Watson. Dr. Watson trained at the Miller Orthopedic Clinic in Charlotte, North Carolina, under Robert B. Anderson, M.D., and participated in the care of professional athletes.
In his free time, Dr. Hsiao enjoys spending time with his young family, running, cycling, trying new food, and traveling around the world. He was born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia (West Africa), and has been to six of the seven continents. He looks forward to his next trip to meet new people and learn more about their stories and cultures.
LILY PALAFOX, R.M.A.
SURGERY COORDINATOR
Lily has been in orthopaedics since 2015. She first started working in the emergency room at Renown Regional Medical Center with mostly traumas, but she specialized in traction and custom orthopaedic devices as well. She then moved to Las Vegas, finished school as a medical technician in 2016, and later registered as a medical assistant in 2018.
Lily coordinates all of our upcoming surgeries in the clinic for both the Desert Orthopaedic Center Surgery Center and Henderson Hospital. She aids in triaging our patients, assisting with wound care, and helping with suture/staple removal, splinting/casting, and fitting our patients with durable medical equipment. Lily is also our translator, as she is proficient in Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, lifting, reading, and hanging out with her loved ones.

TORI LYSINGER, C.C.M.A.
Medical Assistant
Tori has been working in the medical field for nine years as a certified medical assistant. She works primarily in the clinic handling workers’ compensation claims, incoming phone messages, FMLA/disability paperwork, and billing as well as scanning patients for custom orthotics. She is trained in dressing changes and applying devices, such as walker boots and ankle braces. She is from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, but has resided in Las Vegas since 2004. In her spare time, she loves traveling, cooking/barbecuing, and being active with her kids and family.

ASHLEY WILLIAMS, M.A.
ROOMER
Ashley is the newest member of Team Watson, as of September 2020. She is from Akron, Ohio, and transitioned to Las Vegas within the last few years. Ashley is also one of our welcoming faces you’ll see at the start of your visit. She helps us with triaging patients as well as casting and splinting.
Ashley enjoys spending time with her son in her spare time. She has an ambition to grow in the medical field and is looking to further her education. Ashley enjoys working in her position, but she is definitely a team player and does her best to provide a great experience for all our patients!
JORDAN ZACHARY, M.A.
ROOMER
Jordan is a medical assistant for Dr. Troy Watson. He completed the medical assistant program at Nevada Career Institute, graduating in June of 2020. Jordan helps us with triaging our patients and is one of the first welcoming faces you’ll see when you come into our clinic. He is also trained in casting/splinting and fitting patients for durable medical equipment. Jordan is currently going to school at Arizona College of Nursing, where he is excited to further his educational career to become a registered nurse.
MISTIE FAGIANA, C.S.T.
SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST
Mistie is our certified surgical technologist. During our clinic days, she is experienced with applying dressings, removing sutures and staples, applying splints/casts, or anything else a patient may need. She also assists Dr. Watson during surgical procedures. Mistie enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending quality time with her son. If you are a surgical patient, Mistie is available by cell phone to answer any postoperative questions. Make sure you get our team cell number before your surgery.

Brianna Mann
Research Coordinator
Brianna graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She has been volunteering in two research laboratories at UNLV since 2016 and came on board in May of 2018. She was hired to take the place of the exiting research coordinator, Madison Hurley, who went off to graduate school. Brianna will be with the Desert Orthopaedic Research Foundation and Dr. Watson for the next couple of years as she prepares for her clinical psychology Ph.D. program. She is in charge of all things related to clinical research here at DOC. In her spare time, she enjoys finding new places to hike around and outside of the city.
